Starting in Fall 2012, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Oklahoma will be providing all of its members with a subscription to World Literature Today. It will be mailed out directly to OLLI members every two months as part of their membership, and members can also opt to receive the tablet or smartphone version. The OLLI at OU (www.olliatou.org) promotes lifelong learning and the personal growth of older adults, age 50+ through a variety of noncredit courses that range from one-time offerings such as "Mornings with the Professor" to longer, more specific courses like Senior Seminars.
Also, in the Fall 2012 semester WLT will begin extending invitations to all of its cultural events to OLLI at OU members. In addition to the Neustadt Festival and the Puterbaugh Festival, WLT sponsors plays, concerts, and various cultural events that OLLI members will be encouraged to attend—all free of charge to OLLI members.
“The collaboration between WLT and OLLI at OU is a natural one”, said Chris Elliott, Director of the OLLI at OU. “WLT is an incredible publication, and I know our members are excited about receiving this award winning magazine.”
WLT executive director Dr. R.C. Davis-Undiano said he would like to see other OLLI organizations work with WLT to provide this prestigious magazine to its members. “We're willing to provide WLT to all of the members of any OLLI organization for the minimum cost of producing the magazine,” said Dr. Davis-Undiano. “I think the matchup of WLT in the hands of OLLI members is a perfect one, and I know that OLLI members will appreciate and love receiving WLT,” he added.
“I encourage all OLLI directors to take advantage of the generous offer of World Literature Today," said Elliott. “I know OLLI members nationwide will appreciate the subscription to this beautiful magazine. It really is a win-win situation.”
To arrange for WLT distribution to their members, OLLI organizations can contact Dr. Davis-Undiano directly at The University of Oklahoma. WLT phone number: 405-325-4531; Email: [email protected], or write to Dr. RC Davis-Undiano, WLT, University of Oklahoma, 110 Monnet Hall, Norman, OK 73019.
