Liu Xia

Liu Xia (b. 1961), widow of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Liu Xiaobo, is a Chinese poet and artist. She has been writing poetry since 1982 but was severely overshadowed for over thirty years. She has created more than three hundred oil paintings and several series of astonishing black-and-white photographs. She won the DJS–Poetry East West Prize in 2014.
