We’ve been buzzing on the WLT Facebook and Twitter accounts all week with exciting reports from the 2014 Puterbaugh Festival. Continue to tune in today as we wrap up the festival with a roundtable discussion and a keynote talk by 2014 Puterbaugh Fellow Andrés Neuman.

Announced this Tuesday, the 2014 laureate of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is Swedish author Barbro Lindgren. Visit the ALMA website for all the latest information regarding Lindgren and this prestigious prize for children’s and young adult literature.

Also in literary prize news, Colombian author Jorge Franco was named as the laureate of Spain’s Alfaguara Novel Prize on Thursday.

A stir is growing against Great Britain justice secretary Chris Grayling’s ban on sending books to prisoners.  Over eighty of Britain’s distinguished writers and dramatists have now stepped up to intervene.
