Ping Zhu is an associate professor of Chinese literature at the University of Oklahoma and serves as the acting editor in chief of Chinese Literature Today. She is the author of Gender and Subjectivities in Early Twentieth-century Chinese Literature and Culture (Palgrave, 2015) and the co-editor of Maoist Laughter (Hong Kong University Press, 2019) and Feminisms with Chinese Characteristics (Syracuse University Press, 2021). Maoist Laughter won Choice’s Outstanding Academic Title in 2020.
